Xbox 360 vs PlayStation 3
65
I grew up playing Nintendo 64. That was my life as a kid. I woke up. Played Mario Brothers. Went to school and talked about my Nintendo with my friends. Got home and played Super Mario. It was an endless cycle. Now nobody plays Nintendo because barely anybody owns one anymore. Games have advanced and now have better graphics and more of a challenge. Now everyone is playing Call of Duty and Halo: Reach. I find the games completely confusing and a waste of time but who am I to judge when I used to be the same way with Mario.
People have called it the console wars. War seems like a strong word but I have seen many people arguing over which game is the best and which one people should go out and buy. I will be honest, I have played the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. I couldn't tell the difference. I guess you have to be a real gamer to understand the complexity of it all. I have asked my friends who have gave their lives to these games and they have explained why these consoles are so different from one another.
The PlayStation 3, or PS3, is the seventh generation console by Sony. The Xbox 360 is also the seventh generation but it is launched from Microsoft. People of all ages enjoy playing games like Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed on these game system. The graphics and sound system are amazing. It allows you to play with other gamers all around the world. In short, the PS3 and the 360 are awesome.
PS3 vs 360
The PlayStation 3 has, as seen on there many commercials, blue ray. This is an important factor for people who want a game console and a blue ray player. With the PS3, they can get both without choosing and for a cheaper price.
The PS3 has more storage capacity than the 360. Current PlayStation 3 consoles hold up to 26 GB, while xbox 360 only holds seven. Big difference.
The PS3 offers both 5.1 Dolby Digital surround and 7.1 LPCM surround, while xbox only has 5.1 Dolby Digital surround.
PS3 has only two usb ports, while the 360 has three.
Xbox has memory units that can save and transfer game data, but the PS3 has Bluetooth 2.0
Both the 360 and the PS3 have built in wifi.
The PS3's XDR Ram runs at a speed of 3.2 GHz which is faster than the 360's 700MHz
The PS3's seven individual cores beat the Xbox's three dual-threaded cores.
When it comes to the performance in gigaflops the PS3 tops out at nearly three times that of the 360.
The 360 supports up to 4 wireless controllers while the PS3 supports 7 controllers.
I've never got a straight answer when I asked which game system is the best. Some say PS3 while others say it's the 360. I think I'm going to have to go with the PlayStation 3 on this one. The choice is yours though and I hope I was able to help people decide which one they will be buying this upcoming Christmas.
