Papa Roach : A Closer Look

Papa Roach is one of the biggest rock bands in America. Their popularity has faded a bit through out the years but they are starting to push their way back to the top. They started out in California with their influenced hard rock and rap combination in 1993. The band consists of Coby Dick, Jerry Horton, Tony Palermo and Tobin Esperance.

Coby Dick, born Jacoby Dakota Shaddix on July 28, 1976, is the lead singer of P. Roach. He also is the main songwriter. His hometown is Mariposa, California. He attended Vacaville High School when he meant the other members of Papa Roach, though only Dave Buckner went to his school. Coby is currently the only original member of the band. In 2002 he created a side project, Fight The Sky. He also used to host Scarred but gave that up due to touring.

Jerry Allan Horton Jr was born March 10 1975 in Dixon, California. He plays guitar and does the background vocals for Papa Roach. Before he joined P. Roach he was a roofer. In 1982 he moved to Vacaville with his family which led him meeting his future band mates. In 1993, he replaced Ben Luther, grabbing his spot to be in this amazing rock band.

Born in San Jose, California, Tony Palermo is a self taught drummer. He is currently drummer of Papa Roach and Unwritten Law. In 2008 , he was also the touring drummer for Sixx: AM. He permanently replaced Dave Buckner for Papa Roach in 2008, though at first it was only supposed to be temporary.

Tobin Joeseph Esperance was born November 14, 1979. He is the bass player for P. Roach and he takes part in the songwriting with Jacoby. Before Papa Roach he worked as a warehouseman, which he quit to focus on the band. At age 8 he learned how to play the base without lessons. He was P. Roach's roadie before he replaced Will James.
