Month to Month

Month One

During the first month of pregnancy you may not even be aware that you are pregnant. It often isn't realized until you have stopped ovulating and your period doesn't come. Rather it is being acknowledged or not, the baby is beginning to develop everything it needs until birth; the placenta, the amniotic sac and the amniotic fluid. Your uterus will begin to enlarge and soften to allow implantation. The uterine lining will thicken and the blood supply to the uterus will increase. You may experience period type cramps and an increased need to urinate as your uterus changes. It is also normal to have fatigue and tender breast. You may wonder if you are pregnant during this month but women usually wait until they have missed their periods to buy a test.

These are often the first signs of early pregnancy.

  • Urinary frequency
  • Brest Soreness
  • Increased Fatigue
  • Decreased Libido
  • Faintness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

Month Two

This is a very important part of the pregnancy. The baby will begin to develop internal organs. The baby's heart will now begin to beat. Slowly at first but rapidly as the developing continues. By the end of the month all of the baby's organs will be developed as well as the brain will continue to grow. The arms and legs, starting off as buds, begin to lengthen. Tiny toes and fingers start to sprout. The baby cannot see or hear but it has eyes and ears.

You will have hormones affecting your everyday life. You will find that you need to eat more than usual to keep yourself satisfied. You may also notice having a lot of vaginal discharge that will keep yourself free of infection. The list below is more of the symptoms that you will more than likely experience.

  • Urinary frequency
  • Brest Soreness
  • Increased Fatigue
  • Morning Sickness
  • Faintness
  • Mood Swings
  • Increased Vaginal Discharge
  • Increased Hunger

Month Three

The baby's face is now formed and the bones begin to harden. The genital organs are still forming so it will not be possible to tell the sex of the baby yet. The muscles, brain, and nerves are now starting to function. The baby is always moving though you will not feel it yet. Another big step in the pregnancy; The baby's tail has fallen off! The little baby can suck on his thumb or fist.

Your pregnancy will now began to change your body. Weight gain is definitely encouraged. Your hormones will have gone somewhat back to normal. The risk of miscarriage is decreased significantly.

  • Nose Bleeds

Month Four

Yet another month goes by and you are now in your third trimester. Congratulations! The baby is now spilling it's bile on your insides but don't worry, he or she will eat it if it gets hungry. Besides the baby being a bit gross, it is also starting to listen to what is going on outside of the womb. The baby's hearing will not be one hundred percent perfect until a few months later.

Pregnancy may be a beautiful thing but you may not agree to that all of the time. Your nipples will begin to darken and your face might become blotchy. Your heart is beating harder than normal to be sure to circulate the extra blood your body needs. Your stomach may stick out a bit but not enough for maternity clothes yet. Some women are able to feel the baby move inside of them at this point in their pregnancy.

Month Six

The baby's vocal chords work, though he won't use his voice for the first time until he is born. The lungs are still forming as they are the last things to form in your child. Opening and closing their eyes is now possible. The baby can move his arms and legs he will enjoy kicking you a lot. You may also be able to feel little hiccups. If necessary, your baby could be able to live outside of the womb at this point. It is still highly recommended that the child continues to grow in you where it is safer.

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing but their are always exceptions to everything..

Month Seven

The seventh month marks the first month of the trimester. Some women do give birth to their baby prematurely. If you were to have your baby this month the chance of survival is great. The child would have to spend some extra time in the hospital but that is to be sure that he has formed correctly.

You may notice that your baby does not move around as much as he did before. As he grows he takes up more space so he doesn't have much room to wiggle and like he did before. Most sounds are unclear to the baby but he can still hear. He is also getting accustomed to listening to his mom and dad's voices. As weird as it sounds, the baby will be able to taste what you eat because food changes the flavor of the amniotic sac. Other odd fact, your baby can now pass at least a pint of urine a day.

  • Fatigue
  • Heartburn
  • Constipation
  • Backache
  • Leaking breasts
  • Stretch Marks
  • Bleeding Gums

  • Hot Flashes
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Increased Urination
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Blotchy skin

I know it sounds like a lot but there are a few lucky women that only experience a handful of those.

Month Eight

As the baby runs out of room he may get ready for delivery by flipping upside down. Besides his lungs he is already mostly formed. You may be able to tell when he is awake or a sleep. Soon your baby will be born. Be thankful all of the symptoms you had in month seven will still be present but you should not gain anything new to the list.

Month Nine

This is the last month of pregnancy. Most women began to panic as they realize that they will soon be holding their little bundle of joy. It's alright to be a little nervous though. The fear will disappear once you hold your baby for the first time.

Your baby should weigh between 6-8 pounds. Sometime during this month your baby should drop toward your pelvis to prepare for delivery. This unfortunately means he will be more on your bladder. You may have more trouble sleeping so you should try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. You will need all of your strength to deliver your baby.

This month is often known as the nesting month. Women want the best for their baby so they will do their bast to make sure everything is perfect. Cleaning the house and rearranging the nursery more times than you can count is very common. Being prepared is more than okay but it is important to know your limits. Don't over do it.

Sooner or Later

Do not worry if you have passed nine months and are still pregnant. Many women are pregnant for ten months instead of nine. Be sure to go to the doctor for advice. They will tell you rather to let the baby come on its own or to induce labor.

Eventually you will be holding your tiny baby in your arms at 3 in the morning awaiting the day he takes on a normal sleeping schedule. Enjoy carying the silent baby while you still can!

Funny but true
